Interestingly shaped and full of thick jam, which is very complex and sweet, Verdolino is a winner. It is delicious and was also early ripening.
I love this variety and think every fig lover in the Northeast should have it. I have heard reports of it being "melon'like" which I definitely do not agree with. Sometimes people will give that description to any fig that they pick too early.
It is very sugary with some berry notes. I have never had a Verdolino split or sour. I am very high on this variety as well as its larger cousin Salume. Home run for short season and wet climates.
Price is for 1 cutting.
